Arlan Schierbaum is a renowned American keyboardist originally from Los Angeles, California, now living and working in Greece. With a lifelong passion for vintage instruments and an expansive career performing with some of the world’s top musicians, Arlan has become a respected figure in the global music community.

His musical journey began at age three when he taught himself to play the organ. By four, he was taking formal lessons, and by five, he was playing regularly at his local church in Southeast Los Angeles. During his early teens, Arlan discovered acoustic and electric pianos and synthesizers, quickly becoming a sought-after player in bands throughout California’s Mojave Desert.

Following high school, he pursued music education through college courses in theory, voice, concert band, synthesis, and recording engineering. In the early '90s, Arlan moved to the San Fernando Valley and immersed himself in the Los Angeles music scene, collaborating with a wide range of celebrated artists while developing his skills across genres including rock, jazz, funk, blues, world, country, pop, ambient, experimental, and R&B.

Over more than 25 years in L.A., Arlan gained the respect of his peers and traveled the world performing with artists such as Mindi Abair, Joe Bonamassa, Billy Burke, Goldspot, Beth Hart, John Hiatt, Richie Kotzen, Janiva Magness, Mandrill, the Pointer Sisters, Daniel Powter, and Tiromachino, among many others.

A true connoisseur of sound, Arlan is known for his deep commitment to real instruments and vintage keyboards. His extensive personal collection includes Hammond organs with Leslie speakers, Mellotrons, Chamberlins, Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos, Hohner Clavinets and Pianets, ARP and Moog synthesizers, Farfisa and Vox combo organs, and an arsenal of amps and effects from brands like Fender, Marshall, Electro-Harmonix, MXR, Line 6, and many others. His gear has been serviced and customized by top techs such as Ken Rich, Eden Bloch, Bob Dixon, and Jim Williams.

With his encyclopedic knowledge of instruments and studio gear, Arlan is often sought after by producers and recording artists seeking authentic vintage tone and creative expertise. He co-produced the California Keys sample library collection and contributed vintage keyboard recordings for Guitar Center’s Williams Digital Pianos, collaborating with Douglas Morton and Jim Norman.
