DJ Kilmore

Turntablist • Keyboardist • Member of Incubus | Los Angeles, CA

"California Keys is familiar! You guys nailed it. I don’t know how, but you did it—you took familiar instruments and put them in the box… successfully. It’s hard finding amazing-sounding instruments. It’s even harder to replicate that in software, but that’s what you did. California Keys sound and feel just like the originals. Amazing.”
– DJ Kilmore

DJ Kilmore is a world-renowned turntablist, keyboardist, and longtime member of the multi-platinum band Incubus. Based in Los Angeles, Kilmore has brought his signature sound to stages around the globe, blending classic technique with genre-bending innovation.

His journey began at the age of 13, DJing his middle school dances in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania. What started as a childhood passion quickly evolved into a lifelong pursuit. After high school, Kilmore moved to Washington, D.C. to attend The George Washington University, where he gained a reputation for his skills behind the decks—spinning at events across the city and honing his craft in real time.

In 1995, Kilmore relocated to Los Angeles to fully dive into the music scene. He joined the Jedi Knights DJ crew, collaborating with fellow artists like DJ Mindframe, Nel E Nel, and the late DJ Dusk. Through his explorations of the L.A. underground, he found common ground between turntable battles and live performance, eventually joining a few local bands.

That experience led to a life-changing phone call. On February 13, 1998, he auditioned for Incubus—and the rest is history. With his unique style, deep musical knowledge, and magnetic stage presence, Kilmore became a defining force in the band’s evolution, contributing to their global success and performing in front of hundreds of thousands of fans.

More than a battle DJ, Kilmore is a musicologist at heart. His sets span reggae, classic soul, hip-hop, dubstep, electronica, and beyond—always rooted in an expansive understanding of music past, present, and future.
